As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

A third place is a welcoming space where people gather regularly to connect over shared interests and meaningful conversations. Sociologist Ray Oldenburg coined the term to describe places beyond home (first place) and work (second place) where community naturally forms. In an increasingly isolated world, third places offer a setting for authentic relationships to grow.

At Third Place, we believe this kind of community reflects God’s design. God designed us to share the journey of life together. The early church gathered in homes, marketplaces, and shared spaces to encourage one another in faith: "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer." (Acts 2:42)

Jesus Himself often engaged with people in third place settings—whether at a well (John 4), in a fishing boat (Luke 5), or around a table (Luke 19). He showed us that transformation happens when people come together in intentional, Christ-centered relationships.

Third Place is just that—a space to belong, grow, and be known. Whether over coffee, conversation, or shared experiences, this is a place where faith and friendship intersect.
